It’s been a while! Sorry!

I’m really sorry to all those who follow this blog for the length of time between posts. As I’ve said before it is difficult to write when there is nothing new to write about. As for my health, I’m doing fine. It has been eight months since I restarted treatment and the cancer has once again been put to sleep. My latest PSA was undetectable a month ago. Once again I have no libido but that is to be expected and Mandy and I are able to work through it.
Today I participated in a market research study. Although the name of the treatment was not revealed I am making an assumption that it is Relugolix. Relugolix is an LHRH inhibitor much like injectables such as Lupron but in pill form. It is one small pill taken daily. At present I do not know if they have completed the phase 3 trial but I know the FDA has released it under the right to try act.
If the promises hold true, this is a wonderful advancement for men with advanced prostate cancer. The medication acts quickly reducing testosterone to castration levels in as few as 15 days with no testosterone flare. The medication was well tolerated with side effects similar to injectable LHRH inhibitor’s including fatigue, joint pain, 54%,  diarrhea 12%, constipation 12%,  and hypertension 8%. Best of all with this medication there was a 54% reduction in cardiovascular incidents. Most men who went off this medication experienced a testosterone rebound within three months. I will not go so far as to say this is a game changer yet but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
On a personal note. When Mandy and I got together one of her most cherished possessions was a1978 V.W. Camper van. We were poor and hard up for cash. I talked her into selling it. Last week I repented for my sin.

Meet Sunshine. She is a 1972 V.W. Transporter and she is as close to mint condition as I have come across. I cannot believe how much these things have gone up in price but I promise you it was worth every penny to see my wife’s face light up.

  1. Todd, Second try here , first long reply was wiped out be me or not not sent right. Anyway . The VW looks great, congratulations, happy wife happy life! Now go out camping!!
Oh thanks for that post on the new drug, I was wondering the name so now I know. I agree with you that the more bullets the better. I may need that in the future.
I wrote a big reply to Logos on your Mandy got her VW post on HW I got your back brother. And I tried to urge you to turn a deaf ear to him, he posts crazy shit sometimes. He told me once he does that on purpose, for fun or even to get certain people riled up. I have a love him /then sometimes dislike him with Logos but I think I do understand his very unusual theology that believe they need to mixz people up all the time, a form of philosophical humor(sic) anyway I take him all in jest and try not to respond most of the time, but I dont like when he hijacks threads, but he says he dont care about that either, He did call me an angel on earth one time and was very interested in knowing about my Grandma's FAA air traffic controller experience, because he was one too(Picked the wrong time to give up weed..like LLyod Bridges in that Movie-Airplane. So I see Logos as an old weed smokin hippie that likes to mess with our minds. I like him though sometimes he is an a-hole!
Take care enjoy your new ride.om your Magic Bus

  2. Todd, just found your story today and it has made a profound impact. Gotta be your own advocate, damn straight. I will follow the blog, and will assume everything is going great or you need a break from thinking about PC. I have a visit with my oncologist on 6/26 to go over results and I will be asking a lot of questions based on your journey. Thanks for putting yourself out there.

    1. Hi Carroll,
I hope your journey is going well. I wish I had more to write about but I am also glad that I don’t. I still am doing well. Please stay in touch. Todd

  4. I have been waiting for the approval of relugolix. I have had two somewhat inconclusive auxumin PET scans and the best way to determine if the hot spots (difficult location to biopsy) are PC or something else would be to start ADT. I do not tolerate it well and really hope to start on relugolix so I can get faster results and not get stuck on lupron for 6 months if there is no need. How do you get a right to try approval?

  7. Just found your blog . I was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and had surgery on August 19th this year. I started hormone therapy and have radiation treatment set up . We'll see how it goes. The cancer spread outside the prostate to lymph nodes and seminal vesicles.
I'll be following you. Contact me if you would like to be a guest writer on my blog. Just email me .
